Hardware and Remote Work: A Key Link to Productivity

A study commissioned by Lenovo and Intel from market research firm Forrester shows that technological upgrades have a direct impact on productivity, operational agility, and employee well-being.The report, titled “Empower Your Employees with the Right Technology,” surveyed over 1,000 IT managers from global companies, responsible for technology investment decisions and end-user computing strategies, along with 1,845 workers from various countries.The research highlighted the importance of the link between hardware and remote work, as both IT leaders and employees considered satisfaction with technology a key objective.In fact, nearly 60% of surveyed IT leaders reported more than a 10% increase in EX scores by improving employee satisfaction through better technology. Thus, tech tools emerge as a key element in keeping employees happy.However, 50% of the employees surveyed said their devices were outdated or inadequate (i.e., slow, underpowered, or unreliable), and 46% mentioned frequent failures that disrupted tasks and negatively affected their work.There is a significant gap between IT leaders' and employees' perspectives on the link between hardware and remote work. While 84% of IT leaders said employees have no issues replacing their current devices with new ones, only half of the staff saw this as a viable solution.
