Case study: Qubika and Tecspal - IT Asset Optimization

Challenge

Qubika, a company in constant evolution, was in the process of renewing its technology equipment. With a diverse batch of unused devices in their office, they needed an efficient solution to manage their removal, evaluation, and resale or recycling, optimizing costs and reducing waste.

Tecspal solution: buyback + IT service

At Tecspal, we provided a comprehensive service covering all stages of the process:

• Logistics and evaluation: we removed the equipment from Qubika's offices and transported it to our facilities for a thorough inspection through our IT service.

• Competitive pricing: we assessed the equipment with different buyers to ensure the best market offer.

• Revaluation and recycling: with a batch of 107 devices, we conducted a detailed analysis to determine the best course of action:

  • 66 devices were sent for recycling, extracting useful parts and ensuring responsible disposal of electronic waste.

  • 41 devices were refurbished and resold, giving them a second life and making affordable technology accessible to other companies and individuals.

Impact and future outlook

This project not only allowed Qubika to optimize its asset management but also laid the foundation for a long-term plan. Now, they centralize their hardware purchases and management with Tecspal, with a plan to renew their equipment every three years, aligning their accounting amortization strategy with our buyback service.

Environmental impact

Thanks to the revaluation and recycling of these devices, 23,450 kg of CO₂ emissions were avoided, which is equivalent to:

• Planting 1,066 trees and letting them grow for a year.

• Removing 5 cars from circulation for a year.
